What ingredients are in Purr?

Sorry, It's a secret!!

But I don't want to know amounts, just what herbs they are...

It's still a secret!!

Is Purr addictive for cats?

No, all the evidence suggests not (both ours and independent research)

When we first started making Purr we were giving it to them all the time, but after a while it seemed to have less effect. Worried that it might be addictive and/or resistive, we stopped giving it to them and didn't observe any indication of a withdrawal symptoms or any distress in any of them. 2 months later we gave them Purr again and they went loopy for it just like before.

We have no evidence of any addictive properties of Purr, in fact it seems that the more often they have it the less interested they are. We've been giving our cats Purr sporadically for well over 4 years and have not seen any effects longer than the enjoyment of the Purr itself.

The commonly accepted view is that Catnip and the related plants used in Purr are harmless, non-addictive and cause no side-effects

Will Purr aggravate my cats allergies?

We have not had any evidence that Purr affects allergies but would advise caution. We recommend that if your cat has allergies or is sensitive to any substances then you should give Purr a miss

Is my cat too young?

Many younger cats seem to actually be repelled by Purr, developing a 'taste' for it as they mature. This is not a hard and fast rule but you may find that your cat hasn't matured enough to enjoy it yet.

Keep hold of it and try again in 6 months, or send it back for a full refund.

Is my cat too old?

There is some evidence to suggest that as some cats become older they lose interest in Catnip. As yet we have not seen the same effect from Purr but we keep an open mind on the subject.

Please don't forget our money back guarantee!!

My cat keeps licking the Purr off the toy, Is this safe?

Yes.

Of course, you must make sure you've read all the precautions regarding allergies, but if a cat enjoys Purr normally then licking it will do no harm at all

One of ours always licks it up and has never suffered any ill effect.

How long does it last?

Effects vary from cat to cat but generally Purr out-performs Catnip.

We have observed effects lasting from 5 minutes to as long as half an hour.

Once applied to a cat toy, how long does it last before it needs re-applying?

Initially the effect will last anywhere from 5 minutes to half an hour, after which point the Purr stops having an effect on the cat even if you give them some more Purr on a fresh toy.

After about an hour (maybe more, maybe less) they will show interest in new Purr on a fresh toy. They may also show some interest in the original toy without adding any Purr, although probably not as much as they might with a fresh application of Purr.

We have done some experiments and it seems that even several weeks later a toy that previously had Purr on it will generate more interest than an un-Purred toy. The extent of the interest varies from cat to cat and seems to be affected by other unknown factors - sometimes, it seems, a cat just doesn't want to play.

On the whole a fresh application of Purr gives the best effect but some residual effect can be noticed for quite some time afterwards.

Does it work with every cat?

Simply, no.

Opinions differ as to the 'Hit Rate' for catnip, ranging between 60 and 90 percent. We have found Purr to be about the 90% mark.

Also, it doesn't seem to bear any relationship to the cats enjoyment of catnip. Some cats that love catnip ignore Purr and many cats that ignore catnip Love Purr.

Do you sell bigger bottles?

Not at the moment, although we will if we get enough demand for them. To compensate for this we do offer shipping discounts on multiple purchases

My cat didn't react, how do I get my money back?

This does sometimes happen and we offer our 100% money back guarantee for these instances.

Before deciding whether to take us up on the money back offer we have a couple of suggestions that often get Purr working in cases where little or no interest has been shown initially.

First, try it at different times in their day/routine. Sometimes our cats are just not in the mood and ignore it, despite their usual enthusiasm.

Also try giving it to them just before eating and, if that doesn't work, just after. This works on the same principle as the first idea. As the biggest mood changes can occur just before and just after eating we have found this to be a useful way to introduce them to it - once they've enjoyed Purr once, disinterest is a very rare occurrence.

If the above ideas don't work, simply send the Purr back to us at the address on the contact page and we will refund your entire payment including P+P.
